Study or research in Germany
The DAAD (the German Academic Exchange Service) awards grants in a number of different areas. Grant applications are due in mid-November. For example:
* DAAD Study Scholarships are awarded to highly-qualified graduating seniors and graduate students of all disciplines to study in Germany or complete a postgraduate or master's degree course at a German higher education institution.
* DAAD Research Grants are awarded primarily to highly-qualified PhD candidates, but also to master's degree holders and post-doc researchers, for research or a course of study and training at universities or other institutes in Germany for one to ten months.
* EMGIP Bundestag Internships offers internship opportunities for US and Canadian students in the German parliament, the Bundestag. The internships are two months long in positions matching the student's interest and experience.
* RISE (Research Internships in Science and Engineering). Undergrads spend the summer working on a research project with a German PhD student, who serves as a personal and professional mentor. Students receive a scholarship to cover living expenses.
* RISE Professional, for recent graduates, Master's and PhD students. Participants are matched with a German company, where they gain insight into the professional applications of science and engineering.
