Financial Aid for Study in Asia

The Freeman-ASIA program offers awards of up to $7,000 to U.S. students needing the financial support to study abroad in East/Southeast Asia.

  • Summer 2007 Award Cycle:  Deadline, Wednesday, March 7, 2007
  • Fall 2007 & Academic Year 2007-08 Awards Cycle:  Deadline, Wednesday, April 4, 2007
  • Spring 2008 & Early Academic Year 2008-09 Award:  Deadline, Wednesday, October 17, 2007

The primary goal of the Freeman-ASIA Program is to increase the number of American undergraduates who study in East and Southeast Asia, by providing them with the information and financial assistance they will need.  Awardees are expected to share their experiences with their home campuses to encourage study abroad in Asia by others, and to spread greater understanding of Asian peoples and cultures within their home communities.
