Funded by a grant from the Department of Education, the Institute for International Public Policy addresses the need for diverse perspectives within the arena of international affairs. The Institute is a member of the Department of State's prestigious "Diplomatic Fellows Program."
The Fellowship has produced global leaders in a variety of fields including Foreign Service officers, international lawyers, international development professionals, investment bankers and policy analysts.Fellowship winners take part in a sequence of education and training events, including two rigorous summer academic institutes, a study abroad experience, intensive language training, an internship, and graduate school. Each Fellowship award is valued at approximately $70,000.
To be eligible, applicants must:- Be an underrepresented minority: African American, Hispanic/Latino,American Indian, Asian American, Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander.
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Be a sophomore student enrolled full time at a four year institution (or freshman with sophomore advanced standing per advanced placement credits)
- Have at minimum, a 3.2 grade point average.
- Have a demonstrable interest in international affairs.
