Program Description

Communication, Culture, and Decision Making in Germany

Program Highlights

  • Earn 6 credits for your major or minor
  • Tour German cities with a Purdue professor from Germany
  • Experience German culture, history, and cuisine
  • Interact with students from German universities
  • Explore the Rhine river valley
  • Understand communication in German companies
  • Two three-day weekends to travel Europe

Program Itinerary

  • Heidelberg: May 30th – June 27th
  • Trips to Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Speyer, Freiburg, Schwetzingen, Karlsruhe, and Strasbourg (France)
  • Visits of famous castles, museums, and companies in the Rhine river valley and a trip to the European Parliament

Estimated Cost

  • $3600-3800 (plus airfare and part of the meals)
  • Scholarship opportunities available

Eligibility

  • Participation is open to any major and at any level
  • GPA requirement: Good academic standing on a 4.0 scale

No Language Requirement

  • Classes and course material are designed for English-speaking students
  • No experience or training in German are required

Housing

  • All students will be housed in the same house
  • Grocery stores are in walking distance and students will be eligible to eat at the award-winning canteen of the University of Heidelberg
