Overview
Birla Institute of Technology

University: The Birla Institute of Technology was founded by industrialist Shri B. M. Birla in 1955 as a pioneering institution of technical education and research in the industrial heart of India. BIT is a full member of the Association of Indian Universities and its degrees are recognized throughout the world. BIT attained the status of a Deemed University under UGC Act in 1986.

Location: BIT is located in a picturesque 780-acre setting at the confluence of the Jumar and Swarnrekha rivers, on the outskirts of the city of Ranchi (Birla State), 250 miles northwest of Calcutta. The campus consists of laboratories, lecture halls, library and workshops, as well as halls providing accommodation to over 1600 undergraduate and post-graduate students. The Institute is co-educational with separate hostel accommodation for women and men.

Eligibility

Birla Institute of Technology

The program is open to Purdue students who have completed at least two semesters of university study by the start of the program. Successful candidates will demonstrate academic success, maturity and a desire to experience another culture.
