|
Sustainable Agriculture Production in the Tropics teaches sustainable agriculture from a multidisciplinary approach at EARTH University in Costa Rica (www.earth.ac.cr). Program topics include an introduction to Latin American reality along with basic concepts of soil science, plant and animal nutrition, economics and marketing. Classroom theory will be reinforced with farm visits, student-to-student engagement through work experience, develpment of an entrepreneurial project and research methods. Students will have the opportunity to interact with borh large- and small-scale farmers with field visits and overnight stays. Trip to pineapple plantations, and intensive animal and feeding operations are planned. Participants will 3 credit hours in Agronomy. |
