Overview
Dublin Institute of Technology

University: Dublin Institute of Technology is one of Ireland's largest and most innovative institutions of higher educationwith an enrollment of 20,000 Irish and international students. 

Location: Dublin, Ireland's capital, has a population of over one million. It is situated on the east coast and has an international airport and extensive sea ferry services. The climate is temperate with no excesses of heat or cold. In recent years, Dublin was ranked the 18th safest city in the world.

If students complete courses while abroad from Purdue colleges that have not approved the program, they might be able to earn transfer credit for those courses. Students interested in pursuing transfer credit should discuss this with both their academic advisor and their study abroad advisor before applying to the program.

Eligibility

Foods & Nutrition majors should discuss their interest in this exchange with Professor Carole Boushey ( boushey@purdue.edu ).

College of Technology students should discuss their interest with either Professor Robert Herrick ( rherrick@purdue.edu ) or Professor Michael Dyrenfurth ( mdyrenfu@purdue.edu ).

GPA Requirement: 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Academic Program
A DIT professor will serve as an advisor to each Purdue participant in advance to determine a plan of study.  Arrangement for course work, research and practical training can be discussed with the DIT mentor.

Housing
DIT is an urban university with no dormitories of its own.  The mentors will provide students with information about housing possibilities.

For full consideration, students must submit all supporting documents by the dates below.  Popular programs fill quickly, often before the deadline.  To insure a place in a program, apply as early.

As soon as a student submits an on-line application, a My Study Abroad account is created.  Consult the My Study Abroad page for the specific list of requirements for the chosen program since those can differ slightly from program to program.  Applicants may also check on the status of their applications.

After a student is approved for a program, s/he will receive additional information regarding any necessary supplemental paperwork, including any program-specific applications, and confirmation deposits.
