CIEE-Budapest: Central European Studies
Budapest has an old world charm
The CIEE Budapest program is designed for students interested in Hungary's history, politics, economy and social development and the country's context within Europe. Participants will gain insight into Hungary's transformation from state control to a market-based system.

Established in 1990, the CIEE Study Center in Budapest offers students a series of specially designed courses in a variety of fields such as history, politics, economics, culture, and current issues. The program allows students to explore a dynamic Central European culture while immersing themselves in Hungarian language, and also offers an internship for credit.

Budapest, in the heart of Europe, offers a perfect location for a truly rewarding study abroad experience. This cosmopolitan city of two million inhabitants is an architectural gem; several sites have been included in UNESCO's World Heritage list. As Hungary's capital, it is the administrative, business, educational, and cultural center of the country. It is an easy city to live in with excellent public transportation, an opera house, numerous theatres, concert halls and museums along with a wide variety of restaurants and clubs.
