Program Description
Learn about:
· Environmental concerns
· The tropical Amazon forest and the dryer upland forests
· The culture of Brazil
· Attempts being made to save the Atlantic Forest
· The coastal and central highland plantation and their uses
Visit: Soybean and sugar cane fields; cultural sites of Brazil; forest of Aracruz, Rio de Janeiro. A portion of the course will be taught in partnership with the Federal University of Viçosa. Students from the University of Illinois will be participating as well.
