Japan Pre-Departure Meeting

8:00 AM - 10:00 AM

This is a mandatory meeting for students who will study in Japan during the 2016 spring semester. Attendees will receive valuable information from returned and exchange student mentors.

Do not miss this meeting! There will be no make-up session. Unless you have a class or an exam, do not schedule anything for this date and time.  Make arrangements to swap work hours with a colleague or reschedule non-essential tasks, meetings and activities.

Intercultural Awareness Session

2:00 PM - 3:30 PM

There is limited space at this session, so be sure to sign up on your My Study Abroad Page. If you cannot sign up for it, that means this session is full.

Learning about other cultures is one of the central goals of studying abroad. This workshop will deal with strategies students can use to hasten cultural adaptation and have more successful intercultural interactions. We will talk about appreciating the nuances of culture, being more mindful of how you come across, and having the tools to deal with the stages of cultural adjustment.

This workshop is mandatory for all students studying abroad in Spring 2016.
