Intercultural Effectiveness Session

3:30 PM - 5:00 PM

This is a mandatory meeting for all students who will study abroad in the Fall 2016 semester, AY 2016-2017 and Summer 2016. Cultural awareness is a necessary tool to live and work competently in today’s interconnected world. This one & a half hour Study Abroad Intercultural Effectiveness Workshop’s objectives are to increase students’ understanding and awareness of cultural differences, and to provide a set of essential skills that will enhance global competencies and effectiveness. We aim to accomplish these via discussions, group activities, and thought experiments.

Germany Predeparture Meeting

5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

This is a mandatory meeting for students who will participate in exchange, co-sponsored and direct-enroll summer and fall 2016 semester programs in GERMANY:

- Academic Year in Freiburg
- Darmstadt Summer Program
- Munich University of Applied Sciences (Fall and Summer)
- Student Teaching in Germany
- IES-European Union
- University of Stuttgart Summer University

ATTENTION: Experiencing German Engineering and summer research programs in Germany will have their orientation meeting with OPP Assistant Director Joe Tort.

Attendees will receive valuable information from returned and exchange student mentors.

Do not miss this meeting! There will be no make-up session. Unless you have a class or an exam, do not schedule anything for this date and time.  Make arrangements to swap work hours with a colleague or reschedule non-essential tasks, meetings and activities.
