Intercultural Effectiveness Session

4:30 PM - 6:00 PM

This is a mandatory meeting for all students who will study abroad in the Fall 2018 semester, AY 2018-2019 and Summer 2018. Cultural awareness is a necessary tool to live and work competently in today’s interconnected world. This one & a half hour Study Abroad Intercultural Effectiveness Workshop’s objectives are to increase students’ understanding and awareness of cultural differences, and to provide a set of essential skills that will enhance global competencies and effectiveness. We aim to accomplish these via discussions, group activities, and thought experiments.

Sweden (Uppsala) Pre-Departure Meeting Part 2

8:30 AM - 9:30 AM

This is Part 2 of the mandatory country-specific or program-specific meeting for students who will study abroad at Uppsala University in the Fall 2018 semester. Students will have a more focused program-specific conversation with invited returned and exchange students.  Outbound students must be ready to ask questions and raise issues with their mentors.
