Robert & Karin Thompson Study Abroad Scholarship

Dr. Robert Thompson served as Dean of Agriculture at Purdue from 1987-1993 and was instrumental in establishing agriculture study abroad. He made internationalizing the undergraduate experience a high priority and is noted for his dedication to reducing poverty and hunger worldwide through the development of environmentally sound agricultural policies. Thompson, former Assistant Secretary of Agriculture under President Reagan, received a masters and doctorate from Purdue University.

  • This award is open to any agriculture student participating in a study abroad experience at least eight weeks in duration.
