Program Description

A main objective for AI and Job Design in Systematic Review – United Arab Emirates is for students to apply modern tools in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to practice and apply job design principles. A second main objective is to provide an opportunity for students to explore the rich culture and modern cities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai in United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.). The morning schedule will allow for routine daily excursions in afternoons.  Instructional staff experience in Purdue’s AI Academy, customized AI learning projects and study abroad will serve as a guide for students in successful completion of the course near mid-semester. An additional objective is for students to remember and experience and understand effective job design in the context of human factors and ergonomics, with consideration of the organization, well-being and health-related principles. Workshops and activities will emphasize scientific exchange and employment opportunities in U.A.E., while reinforcing key AI and job design-related principles. Students will also gain insight from identifying, organizing, analyzing and synthesizing metadata from articles and databases in early stages of a systematic review and reappraisa. The course will begin with short presentations and a review of fundamentals in AI, job design, human factors and ergonomics before conducting a systematic literature review-related project. Students will identify and recognize AI in various bibliometric analysis tools and will illustrate use of AI in various emerging areas of current interest in job design.
