The main objective for AI and Job Design in Systematic Review – Milan is for students to apply modern tools in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to job design, well-being and health. A second main objective is to provide an opportunity for students to explore the rich culture and historic sites of Italy, and especially Milan. The schedule will allow for routine daily excursions, due to course plans and proximity to famous attractions. Instructor experience in Purdue’s AI Academy, customized AI learning projects and study abroad will serve as a guide for students.
Workshops and activities during the course will emphasize and reinforce key principles. Students will also gain insight from identifying, organizing, analyzing and synthesizing metadata from articles and databases in early stages of a systematic review and reappraisal. Subtopics identified from the analysis will provide opportunity for reframing and communicating about emerging areas in detail as part of the reappraisal.
The Study Abroad course will begin again with short presentations and a review of fundamentals in AI, job design, health and well-being before conducting a systematic review-related project. Students will identify and recognize AI in various bibliometric analysis tools and will illustrate use of AI in job design. The methods of this course have been successfully demonstrated in a variety of other IE courses. Methodologies and procedures that have led to successful publishable systematic reviews will be emphasized and presented throughout the course, leaving sufficient time for successful completion of the writing projects within the course timing.
