Overview
Seijo University is a private university with four undergraduate colleges (Arts & Literature, Economics, Law and Social Sciences) and an enrollment of ca. 4,500. Students benefit from modern facilities, small class sizes and academic excellence in teaching.
Seijo University is located in the Setagaya-ku district of Tokyo, a wooded residential neighborhood in the southwest section of the city. The campus is a five-minute walk from the Seijo Gakuenmae Station of the Odakyu line.

Eligibility
The program is open to Purdue students who have completed at least two semesters of university study by the start of the program. Successful candidates will demonstrate academic success, maturity and a desire to experience another culture.
Please note, Beginning Level students wishing to enroll must have completed at least 2 semesters of Japanese language prior to the start of the program. The program provides 3 levels of Japanese courses -Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced- depending on the results of a placement test taken prior to beginning courses.

Students interested in completing courses while abroad from Purdue colleges or departments that are not listed above should discuss this with their study abroad advisor before applying to the program.
Academic Program
Beginning Level Participants complete intensive Japanese language courses.
Intermediate/ Advanced Level Participants complete intensive Japanese language courses during the fall semester followed by direct enrollment in university classes.
This is an immersion program. Purdue students will be taking Japanese language classes with other exchange students from all over the world and will be taking subject courses with a mix of exchange and domestic students. Seijo is a small university and does not have many exchange students. Therefore students who participate on this program return home with greatly improved Japanese language skills.
Housing
Exchange students are assigned rooms at either a student dormitory for Seijo students, or other possible private residences depending on room occupancy. Students will either be in single rooms or single rooms in a shared unit.
