Program Description
While technological solutions dominate our world today, people's lives are full of sounds, spaces, other people, sensors, textures, smells, chaos, dreams, jokes, surprises, and so much more.
So let's work with these things: let's imagine richer experiences for people, by learning to prototype ideas with anything we find in the world around us.
The course will be run at the National Institute of Design (NID) in India, and Purdue students will work with about 15 graduate students from the 'New Media Design' programme there. (Have a look at their work here.) You can read about previous versions of this course on this webpage, and view some images from it below:
You will experience different sights, sounds, smells, tastes, materials, people, lifestyles, markets, museums, and likely some annoying peacocks. This is, after all, India. You will live, eat, and play with students on the host institute's campus, and this course will equip you to work anywhere the world, with anyone, as part of international teams in global companies.

Eligibility
This course is open to students from any discipline, and to both Graduate and Undergraduates students.
There are no prerequisites.
Program Cost
Students pursuing program participation accept financial responsibility. Purdue will take measures to mitigate financial risks, although will not be liable for loss.
The estimated cost is $2000, but the total cost is TBA.
Please note that the host institute will provide subsidised housing and food on-campus, and this will greatly reduce the cost.
Financial Aid
Purdue University financial aid may be applied to the costs of studying abroad. Students interested in receiving financial aid should
complete and submit the FAFSA by the appropriate deadline.
NOTE: Recipients of certain tuition remission and scholarship programs should pay careful attention to the regulations for using those benefits for study abroad. Ask your financial aid advisor about any limitations.
