Program Description

Join us for an unforgettable study abroad experience in London, where science meets sustainability and innovation.

The program begins with a captivating double-decker bus tour of London, allowing you to take in the city’s most iconic landmarks, followed by a welcome dinner to connect with fellow students.

Throughout the program, you’ll engage in exclusive company visits focusing on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), sustainable urban technology, and other future-focused innovations. You’ll also explore sites such as the Science Gallery London, Sustainability in Urban Tech initiatives, and organizations advancing the conversation on sustainability.

Your journey includes visits to world-renowned museums and landmarks, including the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, the Design Museum, and a guided tour of Westminster Abbey. You’ll also discover the architectural side of sustainability on a walking tour of innovative eco-friendly design projects, as well as explore London’s thriving tech hub through a guided Silicon Roundabout tour.

Cultural highlights feature a performance at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, a traditional Sunday Roast dinner, a networking dinner with Purdue alumni in London, and a memorable farewell dinner cruise on the River Thames.

Beyond London, you’ll take enriching day trips:

  • Oxford University – Explore one of the world’s most prestigious universities on a guided tour.

  • Bletchley Park – Discover the fascinating history of WWII codebreaking and explore its ecological park.

  • Chelmsford – Engage with Place Services or a similar sustainability-focused organization.

Additional cultural excursions include visits to Greenwich and its famous market, as well as time set aside to explore London’s diverse neighborhoods, food, and cultural life at your leisure.

With a balance of academic learning, cultural immersion, and personal exploration, this program offers a unique opportunity to expand your global perspective while experiencing London.

In addition, you’ll have the chance to participate in a special networking dinner with Purdue alumni living and working in London, providing valuable professional connections and insights into international careers.
