Program Description



Enjoy a 4-week experience in the heart of Italy’s Tuscany and earn 6 credits!! Students will live, study and learn in picturesque Siena, Italy. Special excursions include trips to see things like pasta and cheese making, a winery tour and tasting, the picturesque Tuscan World Heritage Sites of San Gimignano and Val d'Orcia, and a cooking class. Siena is conveniently located an hour away from Florence and 3 hours from Rome. Class assignments will be all about Italy and the experiences you'll be having there. Most weeks feature one field trip day and at least one group meal, 3 mornings in class, and a 3-day weekend so you can explore on your own.
Academic Credit
Courses offered:
COM 49502: Travel Writing and Promotion: Develop travel writing skills for the world of travel bloggers and Instagrammers, as well as for longer forms like guidebooks.
COM 30300: Intercultural Communication: Explore the complex relationship between culture and communication with Siena as your classroom.

Students pursuing program participation accept financial responsibility. Purdue will take measures to mitigate financial risks, although will not be liable for loss.
Estimated costs: $4900
(Includes housing, tuition, Purdue fees, day trips, transportation to and from Rome airport, WiFi, and several group meals).
(Does not include airfare and most meals).
Application Deadline
Applications are accepted immediately until Feb. 10. The non refundable $500 deposit must be paid by Feb. 10 to reserve your spot.
