Academic Program
Summer Japanese Studies invites students to immerse themselves in the rich Japanese culture while selecting courses on: beginner or intermediate Japanese language; Japanese art; Japanese pop culture; Japanese history; Japan’s economic development; Japanese business industry; or religions of Japan. In-class work is augmented with co-curricular visits to the city’s rich variety of cultural institutions, organizations, and sites relevant to the course offerings.
Students will take two 3-credit courses. Each class will meet approximately 16 times (about 2 and a half hours per session). Classes are taught in both English and Japanese.
Please note that while CIEE offers the opportunity to take online coursework through ASU Online, Purdue students are not permitted to enroll in these classes during the program and must take their coursework directly through CIEE.
Please see the CIEE website for more course details.
