INDIA: FOOD & AGRICULTURE IN SOUTH INDIA

- Estimated Cost: $4800 includes accommodation, some meals, in country transportation, activities. The cost does not include airfare or some meals.

Immerse yourself in India’s diverse culture, cuisine, and natural beauty. Food, agriculture, culture, history will be studied in these southern cities of India: Bangalore, Mysore, Ooty, Coimbatore, Cochin, and Alleppey. Known as the Silicon Valley of India, Bangalore is a hub for technology and innovation. Famous for its royal heritage and palaces, Mysore offers a glimpse into traditional Karnataka culture. A hill station in the Nilgiri Mountains, Ooty is known for its picturesque landscapes and cool climate. Coimbatore is an industrial city known for its textile industry and educational institutions. Cochin is a major port city with a diverse population and is known for its spice markets, backwaters, and historical sites. Famous for its backwaters and houseboat cruises, Alleppey offers a unique experience of Kerala’s waterways.
Eligibility
Students must be 18 by the start of the program.
You must be a contiuning student during winter session term to participate (incoming or re-entry students cannot take a winter session course).
All students participating in a departmental program will complete a pre and post assessment as part of program completion.
Program Cost
Students pursuing program participation accept financial responsibility. Purdue will take measures to mitigate financial risks, although will not be liable for loss.
