Program Description
A TASTE OF THE MEDITERRANEAN: PORTUGAL, SPAIN, AND MOROCCO
- May 10-21, 2027
- Credits: AGEC 49800 – 3 credits
- Estimated Cost: $5800 which includes international medical insurance, housing, some meals, admission fees, transportation in country and 3 credits. It does not include some meals, airfare, personal expenses or souvenirs.

Experience the rich connections between agriculture, food, culture, and history across three incredible countries. Explore vineyards and cork forests in Portugal, discover Spain’s olive groves, Iberian pigs, and tropical fruit farms, and experience traditional agriculture and food production in Morocco. Along the way, visit historic cities, vibrant markets, and cultural landmarks while tasting the flavors that make each region unique. Get hands-on with local food through farm visits, harvesting, cooking, and shared meals with local communities. This program offers the opportunity to step beyond the classroom, meet local farmers and producers, and see firsthand how agriculture shapes people and communities. Come explore, taste, learn, and experience the Mediterranean in a way you’ll never forget!

Students pursuing program participation accept financial responsibility. Purdue will take measures to mitigate financial risks, although will not be liable for loss.
