Program Description
Smart Mobility in Europe will cover the latest advances in transportation in London and Paris with an emphasis on shared mobility, autonomous transportation, and electrification. Students will reflect upon real-world transportation challenges, critically analyze them and experience them across various modes. Course participants will document their findings in a journal that they will submit at the end of the course.
Below is the preliminary itinerary for May 2025 (activities may be subject to change):
May 11 - Fly from the US to London
May 12 - Arrive in London; check-in at hotel; Welcome Dinner
May 13 - London; Smart Mobility Living Lab; cultural activities
May 14 - Culturual activities; free evening
May 15 - Transportation startup visit; cultural activities
May 16 - Transportation startup visit or segway tour; free evening
May 17 - Eurostar train to Paris
May 18 - Explore Paris
May 19 - Walking Tour of the Latin Quarter or Notre Dame Cathedral
May 20 - Gustav Eiffel University visit
May 21 - Segway tour or factory visit
May 22 - Cultural activity
May 23 - Factory visit
May 24 - State Apartments of the King and Queen or the Louvre; Farewell Dinner
May 25 - Return to the US
**Students enrolled in the Lyles School of Civil & Construction Engineering will receive the $1,000 MOH Scholarship** (if you haven't used it previously)
Academic Credit
Earn 3 credits for CE 49700. Please make sure to check with your academic advisor as to how this can be used in your plan of study!
Eligibility
Open to all engineering students, sophomore and up!
Program Cost
Students pursuing program participation accept financial responsibility. Purdue will take measures to mitigate financial risks, although will not be liable for loss.
Estimated cost of the program is $4500! This includes hotels, all local ground transportation, breakfast daily, welcome and farewell meals, cultural activities, academic credits, and international health insurance. ADDITIONAL COST: RT Airfare, some meals, passport, visa (if needed), and personal expenses.

Application Deadline
Students will be accepted on a rolling basis until the program reaches capacity. There are 20 spaces available!
