Program Description
Join Prof. Carl Wassgren in Antibes, France for ME 20000 Thermodynamics I. This is the same course that is taught on the Purdue campus. Class will be held each week day with afternoon homework or problem solving sessions. A Purdue TA will travel with the group to assit with the course. Students will have weekends free to explore the French Riviera! Students will be housed in shared apartments.
Itinerary includes: Cultural events like wine and cheese tasting, day trip to Monaco, Eze, and Nice, City Tour, and industry site visit. These will be scheduled during non-class times or in the afternoons on week days. All times TBD.

May 10-Depart the USA
May 11- Arrive in Antibe, France, airport pick-up and transfer to apartment, day to rest
May 12- Orientation, Walking tour, Welcome lunch, free evening
May 13-15- Class-9am-12pm, lunch break, 1:30-3:00 homework or problem solving sessions, free evenings
May 16-17 Free weekend
May18-22-Class 9am -12pm, lunch break, 1:30-3:00 homework or problem solving sessions, free evenings
May 23-24-Free weekend
May 25-29-Class 9am -12pm, lunch break, 1:30-3:00 homework or problem solving sessions, free evenings
May 30-31-Free weekend
June 1-3-Class and final exam, Farewell dinner
June 4- Students free to depart any time
Academic Credit
Earn 3 credits for ME 20000 Thermodynamics I. All students must complete all prerequisites prior to departure. Check with your academic advisor for advice on prerequisites.
Eligibility
You must have this course in your plan of study and satisfactorily complete the prequisties prior to departure. All students should check with their academic advisor to make sure this course works in your plan of study.
*Students must have a 3.0 GPA and no student on Academic Notice will be considered.
Program Cost
Students pursuing program participation accept financial responsibility. Purdue will take measures to mitigate financial risks, although will not be liable for loss.
Estimated cost is $5,650 which includes: Housing, airport pick-up upon arrival, academic credits, day trip to Monaco and Eze, Welcome and Farewell meals, all cultural and academic excursions listed on the itinerary, public transportation pass, and international health insurance.
Additional expeses: Airfare, meals (apartments have fully equipped kitchens), travel documents, personal travel/activities, personal spending money.
