Program Description
This is a 11-day program in Japan to take place in Winter Session 2025/2026. The destinations are Tokyo and Nagoya, and the planned activities include visits to historical/cultural sites and a family home to experience Japanese New Year's, a cooking class, etc. This video gives you a brief overview:

Academic Credit
The course number is JPNS 49000, 3 credit. It counts as an elective for Japanese major/minor and Asian Studies major/minor.
Eligibility
Prior Japanese language knowledge is required.
You must be a contiuning student during winter session term to participate (incoming or re-entry students cannot take a winter session course).
All students participating in a departmental program will complete a pre and post assessment as part of program completion.
Program Cost
Students pursuing program participation accept financial responsibility. Purdue will take measures to mitigate financial risks, although will not be liable for loss.
Estimated cost $3,529. This is subject to change. This does not include airfare and visa fees (if a visa is required of you), but includes study abroad fee, accommodations, breakfast daily, travel insurance, admissions for most attractions, cooking class, guided tours, transportation including bullet trains, and Welcome & Farewell dinners.
