Hi everyone! I hope to share this incredible opportunity with you!
Information, Itinerary, and Images
The Prague Quadrennial (PQ) is a ten-day, international scenographic festival that integrates experiential performance design, theatre architecture, pedagogy, lectures, workshops, performance, and interactive exhibits in the heart of Prague. The PQ occurs once every four years, and brings together artists from around the world to present and discuss the current state of performance and design. This festival offers a rare opportunity to explore the performance cultures of so many other countries, and the chance to interact, ask questions, and experience different styles of performance they could not experience here in the US. White it may initially seem very performance-focused; the international scenographic core to the PQ means that it covers everything from movement and dance to sound experiences, space and theatre architecture, cultural identities, fashion and art, to socio-political interaction and sustainability. Every day there is a new interactive performance, a new exhibit, and a new workshop. There are few, if any, other opportunities to experience so many different things in one place, at one time.

In addition to the PQ itself, this study abroad takes advantage of the arts unique to Prague; students will take a marionette carving class, a cooking class and food tour, attend three full scale productions in the city, opportunities to visit two museums, and take a historical architectural tour.
