Overview | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Before applying, students interested in this program should discuss their plans with the Study Abroad Liaison in the College of Engineering or the College of Science depending on major area of study. SUPER is a summer research program at the University of Stuttgart designed exclusively for undergraduate students. Due to the supervision involved, placements are limited. The length of SUPER varies depending on the research project offered by the hosting institute. In the past, research placements have lasted two to three months. Each year, available research opportunities for the coming summer are published in early December on the program website linked below. This program is open to science and engineering majors who will have completed at least four semesters of university study by the start of the program. Interested students must consult with a representative of their home schools or departments about their research plans before confirming participation in this program.

No knowledge of German is required; the working language of the program is English. The program consists of the following:
Typically participants will earn a total of 6 credits. Each student confirms the credit they will receive with the study abroad liaison in their school or department. NOTE: Final selection will be made by the University of Stuttgart faculty who is the Primary Investigator (PI) of the project. If you are applying to this program, make sure you put together an impressive application as you will be competing for the highly coveted spots with students from Stuttgart's other exchange partners. |

Housing | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Participants live in student residence halls where they can prepare meals in shared kitchens. Midday meals can be taken at the university Mensas (cafeterias). | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Students pursuing program participation accept financial responsibility. Purdue will take measures to mitigate financial risks, although will not be liable for loss. Students should carefully note what costs need to be paid to Purdue University or to a co-sponsor or agency, and what costs need to be paid at the overseas study location. This will vary by program. The visa fee listed below is only necessary for Purdue international students who are citizens of countries required to get entry visas for Germany. For full consideration, students must submit all supporting documents before or by the application deadline. Popular programs fill quickly, often before the deadline. To insure a place in a program, apply early. As soon as a student submits an online application, a My Study Abroad account is created.
