Overview | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Universidad de los Andes was founded in 1948. It was the first private higher education institution in Colombia that was non-denominational and independent from from social or economic power groups.
Bogotá, the capital city, was founded in 1538. It is the geographic, administrative, political, and industrial center of the country. With a population of more than nine million, Bogotá is one of the largest cities in South America. For more program information, please visit the program website. |

Eligibility | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The program is open to Purdue students who have completed at least two semesters of university study by the start of the program. Successful candidates will demonstrate academic success, maturity and a desire to experience another culture. Spanish is not required for chemistry majors taking the special list of chemistry classes being offered in English. Some knowledge of Spanish is strongly recommended. Five Semesters of Spanish is required for all other students/coursework. Language Requirement: 0-5 Sem Spanish |

Students will stay in the university's dorms, called Torre Seneca. Individual or shared rooms are available, for varying fees. The university does not operate a host family program or assist with finding alternative housing options. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
