Overview

CIEE-Beijing: Intensive Chinese Language
Beijing, a city of 11 million people, is the capital of the world's most populous nation. The city is a fascinating combination of modern development and ancient cultures. It reflects China's evolving history when different dynasties were based there and constructed some of the nation's most culturally important sites such as the Great Wall, the Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace, the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square.

The CIEE Study Center in Beijing is hosted by Peking University, founded in 1898 and now one of China's most prestigious universities. Located in northwestern Beijing in an area known as Haidian, the campus is comprised of a blend of traditional and modern buildings. Participants live in the university's foreign students complex and take meals in on-campus cafeterias or local restaurants.
