The research projects emphasize molecular approaches and utilize a wide variety of biological systems, including plants, mammalian tissue cultures, mice, bacteria, fungi, viruses, etc. Each Purdue student is paired with a German graduate student mentor or postdoctoral fellow, who provides one-on-one instruction and supervision. Students are expected to learn enough about the procedures and the biological system to be able to continue to design experiments, analyze data, and prepare a presentation at the end of the experience. Previous research experience is required. The cost of the program is Summer Tuition?, $96 for insurance, airfare (estimated at $1500), housing at $1665, and food (estimated at $1000), $291 for social contribution fee, and $145 for a passport.
