Academic Credit

This program allows students across the Purdue campus to earn 3 to 6 credits during a 3-week study abroad in Greece.

EDPS 49000: Greece: Education, Agriculture, and Policy Past and Present (3cr)

This course is a problem-based learning (PBL) course designed to provide students with the opportunity to learn about education, agriculture, and/or law and policy in Greece that is based on in-depth learning and comprehension, not simply fact memorization. Topics outside of these three areas may be completed with pre-approval from Dr. Grimmet. PBL is an active learning process by which students can work on real-world problems using their previous knowledge and skills from their major content area and apply it within a new setting/experience. Students may work individually or in teams of no more than four people.

EDPS 49000: Experiential Learning: Encountering Self-Determination and Generalization across Cultures (3cr)

This course will investigate self-determination and generalization as human rights, roles, and responsibilities and reflect upon their individual past and current personal experiences with self-determination and generalization. While in Greece, learners will engage in new cultural experience(s) and analyze these experiences from the lens of self determination and generalization. Learners will apply their new knowledge to devise a plan for future implementation within their program of study/work setting.
