Program Description

The main goal of this program is to expose students to design and construction within the built environment through the lens of a South American culture. The southeast region of Brazil, which is the location of this experience, has a rich architectural history, ranging from 18th century colonial, to 20th century modernism and post-modernism. This broad range of different designs is a result of economic and sociological transformations that happened throughout centuries which will be discussed with the students.
