Overview
CAPA-London: Wrongful Convinctions
This short-term, accelerated summer program on Wrongful Conviction is a unique opportunity to explore real cases with a pioneer in the field, Professor Justin Brooks. As head of the California Innocence Project, Prof. Brooks has spent his career working to exonerate wrongfully convicted people. His high profile cases, including that of pro football player Brian Banks, have garnered media attention from Time Magazine, LA Times, TEDx, and others. Eligibility

The program is open to Purdue students who have completed at least two semesters of university study by the start of the program. Successful candidates will demonstrate academic success, maturity and a desire to experience another culture.

GPA Requirement: 2.8 on a 4.0 scale

If students complete courses while abroad from Purdue colleges that have not approved the program, they might be able to earn transfer credit for those courses. Students interested in pursuing transfer credit should discuss this with both their academic advisor and their study abroad advisor before applying to the program.

Academic Program
This is an intensive program focused on one specific topic. This program is composed of two 3-credit courses that include guest lectures, training on fact investigation and research, observing trials, and visiting London-based organizations that are working on behalf of the wrongfully accused.

Excursions
A daytrip to Stonehenge and Bath is included. While in London, explore the diversity of this cosmopolitan city with CAPA's My Global City events, like touring Camden or enjoying the food on Brick Lane.

Housing
Students stay in shared apartments within a one-hour commute to the CAPA London Center.

The Program Fee includes: tuition, insurance, self-catered housing, local transportation pass, and excursions/activities.
