Program Description

Join Prof. John Morgan in Taiwan in May 2018 and learn about the academic and industrial environment in Taiwan. 

Proposed itinerary:

May 12-Depart

May 13-Arrive Taipei Airport and train to Tainan City-National Cheng Kung University, Welcome dinner

May 14-8- Daily classes at NCKU, cultural excursions, and industry visits

May 19-20- Weekend at Kenting Beach and other excursions, then transfer to Taipei

May 21-26 Classes and: Tour National Taiwan University, Academia Sinica Research Lab, Jiufen gold mine, Taipei 101 Building tour, Night Market, National Palace Museum, industry tours, cultural excursions and events.  Farewell dinner on May 26.

May 27- Students free to depart

Academic Credit

Students will receive 1 credit for ChE 49700, Technical Elective

Eligibility

Open to all engineering students who are in good standing with the university and have a minimum GPA of 2.5

Program Cost

Program cost is estimated at $2200 ($1700 if you have the Purdue Moves Scholarship available) which includes all housing, ground transportation, breakfast daily, at least 2 dinners, all excursions listed on the itinerary, 3 credits, and International Health Insurance. 

ChE will receive a $250 scholarship through the ChE Department.

Additional expenses would be:  passport, lunches and most dinners, and personal spending money. 

Non US Citizens will need to obtain a tourist visa for travel if necessary.
