Program Description

Is ME 270, Basic Mechanics I, in your plan of study?  If so, why not take this class in beautiful Barcelona!  Professor Chuck Krousgrill will be teaching this course from May 6-June 1, 2019.  This is the same course you would take at Purdue.  

You will have class from 9-12 each week day.  Evenings and weekends are free.  A Purdue TA will also be with the group to assist with classes and homework.  Tentative Schedule: 

May 6- Depart USA

May 7-Arrive Barcelona

May 8- Orientation, City tour, Welcome Meal

May 9- First Class 

May 10- Class

May 11-12-Free weekend

May 13-17-Class 9-12 each week day

May 18-19- Free weekend

May 20-24- Class 9-12 each week day

May 25-26- Free weekend

May 27-31- Class 9-12 each week day

May 27th- evening- Farewell dinner

June 1st- You are free to leave any time 

 Housing will be in student dormitory style housing in twin rooms.  Each room has a private bath. Kitchens and laundrey facilities are on site.  All buildings have security.  

Other course activites will be:  1 lecture on the history of Calatonia and Spain, Winery tour and day trip, Guided walking tour of Barcelona, Castellers workshop, 1 month transportation pass to get to class. 


Academic Credit

Earn 3 credits for ME 270.   Ask your academic advisor how this fits into your plan of study. 


Your must be a student in the College of Engineering in good standing (no academic probation) and ME 270 must fit into your plan of study.  All acceptance decisions will be made by Prof. Krousgrill. 

Program Cost

Estimated program cost is $4,400.  This includes:  All housing, Airport pick-up at arrival, extensive health & safety orientation, 24/7 onsite support for all student needs, 3 credits, winery tour day trip, Castellers Workshop, Welcome and Farewell meals, guest lecture, walking tour of Barcelona, and a transportation card for one month. 

Additional costs are:  Airfare, passport, Visa (non-US citizens only), meals, and personal spending money and travel.
