Lived Experiences in Greece will consist of a 20 day program which will aquaint students with the culture and touristic features of Greece. Students will spend 3 days in Athens and then head north to see the monasteries of Meteora which are perched on top of cliffs. The program will spend a day in the Pelopenese penisula south of Athens to see some historic sites and an Olive Oil facility. We then head to 3 of the most popular Greek Islands in the Aegean, Mykonos, Poros and Santorini. By the end of the program students are expected to have a basic understand of Greek life and culture and the tourism industry.
Academic Credit
The program will consist of 3 credit hours. Depending on your home department you would need to see your academic advisor to see how this fits into your program. For example, for HTM students the course will meet their HTM selectives or fit as a elective. The course will consist of keeping a journal and quizes and other assignments.
Program Cost
Students pursuing program participation accept financial responsibility. Purdue will take measures to mitigate financial risks, although will not be liable for loss.
The approximate cost will be $6700 which will include international airfare and one domestic flight. All tours and admissions and hotels as well as about half of the meals will be included.
