Program Description

Professor Jitesh Panchal of Mechanical Engineering will be teaching ME 452 Machine Design II in Rome during May of 2020.  This is the same course you would take at Purdue.  You have class each week day from 9am-1pm with afternoons and weekends free.  

Course highlights include:  Rome City tour, Welcome dinner, extensive health & safety orientation, day trip to Pompeii, Pizza and Gelato Crawl, Bike ride on the Appian Way, and a farewell dinner.  

Class will be held each day at the CEA Abroad Learning Center in the Prati neighborhood of Rome. 

Housing:  students will be housed in shared apartments with kitchens so you can prepare your own meals.

Academic Credit

Earn 3 credits for ME 45200 Machine Design II.  This is a Technical Elective in the ME plan of study.  

Eligibility

Open to ME majors who have successfully completed ME 352 Machine Design I with a grade of C or better prior to the start of the program.  If you are unsure if you qualify for this course, contact Prof. Panchal at panchal@purdue.edu  

Students on academic probation are not eligible.  

Program Cost

Program cost is approximately $4200.  This includes all housing, airport pick up, academic credits, day trip to Pompeii, Pizza and Gelato Crawl, Bike ride on Appian Way, Welcome and Farewell meal, Rome City Tour, Transportation pass, and international health insurance. 

Additional expenses are:  RT airfare, Passport, Visa (if non-US citizen) meals, and personal expenses.
