Program Description

This program will teach an accelerated version of the EE Fundamentals I course which is typically offered on campus. The syllabus and other details about the course can be found here. The schedule will be different, but the same material will be covered. Students will be evaluated based on homework assignments, one midterm, and one final exam.

Class will be held on weekdays at the CEA Study Center in the center of the city.  Evenings and weekends in Barcelona are free to you to explore this beautiful city! 

Other program highlights include:  Tapas cooking class, Day trip to local winery, 2 guest lectures on the history and culture of Spain and Catalonia, City tour.  


Academic Credit

Earn 3 credits for ECE 20001 Electrical Engineering Fundamentals I


Prerequisites: You must have successfully completed 1 course from each of the four categories listed prior to the start of the program:

1. ENGR 13100 or ENGR 14100 or ENGR 16100 or ENGR 13300
2. PHYS 17200 or PHYS 15200 or (ENGR 16100 and ENGR 16200)
3. MA 16600 (Minimum Grade C-) or MA 16200 (Minimum Grade C-)
4. MA 26100 or MA 17400 or MA 18200 or MA 27101

If you are unsure if you qualify, please contact your academic advisor.  All acceptance decisions will be made by Prof. Peleato.  


Program Cost

Estimated program price is $4200 which includes:  All housing, 3 academic credits, City tour, extensive health & safety orientation upon arrival, airport pick-up upon arrival, all excursions on the itinerary (winery day trip, Tapas Cooking Class), local transportation pass, Welcome and Farewell group meals, 24/7 Emergency support from CEA, and International Health Insurance. 

Additional expenses include:  Airfare, meals, passport, Visa (if non-US citizen), personal travel, and personal spending money
