The University of Campinas, commonly called Unicamp, is a public research university in the state of São Paulo, Brazil and is consistently ranked among the top universities in Brazil and Latin America.

UniCamp was established in 1966 in the city of Campinas, with the goal of becoming an academic center of excellence, producing world-class basic and applied research, providing high-standard undergraduate and graduate education, and serving as a catalyst for economic and social development.

The university enrolls approximately 40,000 students, with around 1,000 foreign students on campus.

The program is open to engineering majors who want to take ME, ECE, and language coursework only.

Students must be in good standing and have completed at least two semesters of university study by the start of the program. Successful candidates will demonstrate academic success, maturity, and a desire to experience another culture. 

GPA Requirement: 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Housing

Unicamp does not offer dorms for exchange students, but they are able to assist students in finding other accommodations. Options such as a rented room, studio apartment or shared house are available. The student will need to be an active participant in securing housing and will sign their own lease or contract.

Students pursuing program participation accept financial responsibility. Purdue will take measures to mitigate financial risks, although will not be liable for loss. 

Students should carefully note what costs need to be paid to Purdue University or to a co-sponsor or agency, and what costs need to be paid at the overseas study location.  This will vary by program.
