Overview | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (NABA) was founded in Milan, Italy in 1980 and is the only design school in Italy accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education. With the school’s expansion into Rome, NABA Rome provides a renowned design education in the heart of the capital city, which is overflowing with art and design from ancient to modern times. NABA Rome holds true to NABA’s teaching methods that stress cultural, theoretical, and practical aspects of design and seek to put students in constant contact with companies and professionals. |

The program is open to Purdue students in good standing who have completed at least two semesters of university study by the start of the program. Academic Program | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
NABA courses run Monday – Friday between 9:00am and 6:00pm. Students complete their course registration during the SAI application process by selecting their primary and alternate course choices. Course schedules are confirmed 3 weeks prior to the program start. Students receive their official schedule (with days and times) at orientation. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Excursions | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
SAI offers all students the Viva Experience: frequent cultural activities, at no extra cost, for participants to get to know their community, city, and country. Please see the SAI website for examples of the types of activities included in this program. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Housing | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
SAI student apartments are convenient, clean, and well equipped with shared occupancy bedrooms (upgrade to private bedroom available). Typical residences house 2 to 8 students and contain a combination of private and shared bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, and living areas. Furnishings, a washing machine, basic kitchen supplies, bed linens and towels are provided. All apartments are equipped with wireless internet. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Students pursuing program participation accept financial responsibility. Purdue will take measures to mitigate financial risks, although will not be liable for loss. Students should carefully note what costs need to be paid to Purdue University or to a co-sponsor or agency, and what costs need to be paid at the overseas study location. This will vary by program.
