Overview
Students participating in this spring or fall 2025 program will receive a guaranteed flight voucher worth up to $1,500 from CIEE.
The CIEE Semester in Singapore Program allows students to take a mix of classes through the CIEE Study Center and/or Singapore Management University as well as to have the option to participate in an internship or service-learning or research projects.
Singapore is a hub for global finance and trade at the tip of the Malay Peninsula boasting one of the fastest growing economies in the past 50 years. You’ll find its warm climate and excellent infrastructure allows for one of the highest standards of living in the world. Once a small shipping port, Singapore is one of the safest, greenest and multicultural cities in the world. You’ll be live and learn in the center of the city, with easy access to culture, art, music, and theater as well as shops, restaurants and cafés.

Eligibility
The program is open to Purdue students in good standing who have completed at least two semesters of university study by the start of the program. Successful candidates will demonstrate academic success, maturity, and a desire to experience another culture.

Excursions
Ample activities and daytrips will be offered to immerse yourself in Singaporean culture and historical heritage.
- Explore the capital city of Indonesia's Special Region of Yogyakarta.
- Experience the cultural richness of the port of Malacca in Indonesia.
- Learn about hawker cuisine, and the heritage behind street food in Singapore.
- Visit Sentosa Island History Museum and learn about WWII battles on this strategic island.
- Explore the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve trail, the only primary forest in Singapore.
Housing
Students live in shared bedrooms in a 3-star hotel in a location accessible to public transportation. Each hotel room consists of a private bathroom with shower facilities and two single beds. The hotel also has a 24-hour concierge to assist students.
Estimated Program Costs
Students pursuing program participation accept financial responsibility. Purdue will take measures to mitigate financial risks, although will not be liable for loss. Students should carefully note what costs need to be paid to Purdue University or to a co-sponsor or agency, and what costs need to be paid at the overseas study location. This will vary by program. The program and housing fees include: housing, tuition, onsite orientation, and day-trips, excursions, and activities.
