Program Description

This Summer 2023 Study Abroad program is scheduled for July 29-August 12, 2023 to Arequipa, Peru. Arequipa is located in the southern part of Peru. Arequipa is Peru's second largest city behind Lima. Taken aback by the natural beauty of the valley, the Incans settled here and named it "Ari-quepay"... meaning "Let's stay here". Global Vertically Integrated Project for Integrated Business and Engineering (Global VIP-4-IBE) will join the University of Technology and Engineering (UTEC) Global Academy course on hydrogen energy technologies. You will gain insights on the new AngloAmerican Quellaveco copper might which is a 100% digital, 100% powered by renewable energy and deploying autonomous mining equipment. AngloAmerican is the world leader with their nuGen Zero Emission Haulage Solution (ZEHS) for green hydrogen powered haul trucks used in open-pit surface mining operations.
