Program Description

Are you interested in learning about Afro-Brazilian history and culture in areas such as art, music, dance, religion, politics, media, film, literature, and martial arts? If so, this study abroad program is for you!

During our two weeks in Brazil, we will explore the many different historical aspects of Salvador da Bahia that reflect the city's roots in West African culture. This study abroad experience will uncover numerous contributions Afro-Brazilians have made to the city.

Program Cost

Students pursuing program participation accept financial responsibility. Purdue will take measures to mitigate financial risks, although will not be liable for loss.

Estimated Program Cost: $1,500

Included: Airfare, hotel, most meals, in-country transportation, admission fees to Brazilian attractions

Not included: Some meals
