Overview
National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) is an innovative and collaborative university that is consistently ranked among the top universities in Taiwan, and research conducted there is expected to further develop Taiwan's emerging smart medical industry. Currently, there are 20 colleges and about 70 research centers for artificial intelligence, biological science and technology, biomedical science and engineering, computer science, electrical and computer engineering, humanities and social sciences, management, and more. There are English-taught courses in all colleges, and free Chinese language courses are available.
Taiwan and its surrounding islands, situated in East Asia at the northwestern edge of the Pacific, possess an endless variety of terrains, forests, agricultural products, and marine ecologies, as well as a diversity of ethnic cultures along with enchanting human customs and practices. In Taiwan, the ancient and the modern, the traditional and the new are seamlessly woven together, creating a fascinating, dynamic society like no other in the world.

The program is open to Purdue students in good standing who have completed at least two semesters of university study by the start of the program. Successful candidates will demonstrate academic success, maturity, and a desire to experience another culture.
