Program Description
Join Prof. Carl Wassgren in Prague for this core engineering course, ME 20000 Thermodynamics I. This is the same course you would take on campus, taught by a Purdue professor. Check with your academic advisor to be sure you have completed the prerequisites.
A Purdue TA will also travel with the group and be available for homework assistance and study sessions.
Prague is a beautiful and central location in Europe. Many beautiful destinations are a short train ride away!
*Several cultural events and excursions will be scheduled during non-class hours. There will also be one visit to a Thermo related facility.

May 5-Depart the USA
May 6-Arrive in Prague, airport pick-up provided, transfer to housing (shared apartments with Purdue students)
May 7-Orientation, walking city tour of Prague, Welcome Meal, free evening
May 8-10-9am-12pm Class each week day lunch, break, homework and study sessions, free evenings
May 11-12-Free weekend
May 13-17-9am-12pm class, lunch, homework and study sessions, free evenings
May 18-19-Free weekend
May 20-24-9am-12pm class, lunch, homework and study sessions, free evenings
May 25-26-Free weekend

May 31- Final Exam, Farewell Meal

Academic Credit
Earn 3 credits for ME 20000 Thermodynamics I. This program must be in your plan of study and you must satisfactorily complete the prerequisites prior to departure. Minimum 3.0 GPA.
Eligibility
You must be an engineering student in good standing with at least a 3.0 GPA. All students are required to check with their academic advisor to be sure the prerequisites are satisfactorily completed prior to departure.
Students who apply for this course must have this course in their plan of study.
**Freshman or FYE students with no established GPA: Acceptance decisions will be made after Fall 2023 grades are posted.
Program Cost
Students pursuing program participation accept financial responsibility. Purdue will take measures to mitigate financial risks, although will not be liable for loss.
Estimated cost is: $5,100 which includes: Housing (shared apartments), local transportation pass, welcome and farewell meals, Academic credits, cultural excursions on the itinerary, and international health insurance.
Additional costs are: RT Airfare, meals, Passport, Visa (if necessary), and personal spending money and activities.

Students will be accepted on a rolling basis. 20 spots available. In the past, this program has filled very quickly so please don't hesitate to apply if interested.
