Program Description
Boost your global fluency and cultural competence with our Maymester 2024 Study Abroad Program titled "Experience Taiwan: Language, Culture, and GlobalTeamwork." From May 11 through May 25, students will be hosted by National Taiwan Normal University's (NTNU) Mandarin Training Center in Taipei, and will experience a specialized two-week, 3 credit mini-course focused on business Chinese, etiquette, and global teamwork which covers essential vocabulary, conversational and grammatical structures, and insider perspectives on East Asian corporate culture.
As part of the immersive cultural experience, students have the chance to network with language volunteers and peers from NTNU's College of Technology, enhancing their real-world language usage and cultural insights. The morning language classes are complemented by afternoon and weekend excursions, including visits to Chung-yuan Christian University, National Cheng-Kung University (NCKU), local night markets, museums, and companies, as well as short trips to renowned Taiwanese landmarks like Dan-shui, Jiu-Fen, Tainan city, and the Sun-Moon Lake.
