Program Description
Pre-engineering students will have an immersive experience in Italy, exploring the potential for combining their engineering degree with a minor in GEARE at Politecnico of Milan, while also gaining insights into Italy's culture and industries through visits to key cities and cultural centers. This program will encompass field trips, museum visits, and exposure to practical information, vocabulary, pronunciation, and basic grammar.

June 15 - Depart for Italy
June 16 - Arrive at Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP)
June 17, Milan - Morning class; Afternoon Duomo tour
June 18, Milan - Morning class; Afternoon visits to Leonardo campus and Castello Sforzesco tour
June 19, Milan - Morning class; Afternoon visits to Bovisa campus and Museo Nazionale Scienza e Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci
June 20, Lake Como - Morning class at Lecco campus; Afternoon Boat Tour of Lake Como
June 21, Turin - Visit to Fiat Factory and Casa 500 Car Museum; Guided walking tour of Turin
June 22, Milan and Bologna - Guided walking tour of Bologna
June 23, Bologna - Morning class
June 24, Sant'Agata Bolognese - Morning class; Afternoon visits to Cathedral of Ferrara and Castello Estense
June 25, Ferrara - Lamborghini tour; group dinner

Academic Credit
Earn 6 credits-3 for ENGR 39600 and 3 for ITAL 39300. Please check with your academic advisor as to how this course can be used in your plan of study.
Eligibility
Open to all students in Engineering and related majors across campus, including incoming students
Participants must be 18 years, or older when participating in the program on June 15, 2024.

Program Cost
Students pursuing program participation accept financial responsibility. Purdue will take measures to mitigate financial risks, although will not be liable for loss.
The estimated cost is $3900 - housing, ground transportation, cultural and course activities, some meals, and international health insurance.
Additional cost - airfare, lunches and dinners, passport, visa (if necessary), personal spending money
