Eligibility

The program is open to Purdue students in good standing who have completed at least two semesters of university study by the start of the program. Successful candidates will demonstrate academic success, maturity, and a desire to experience another culture.

Academic Program
At Sabanci University, the language of instruction is English.
Basic Turkish I (TUR 101), Basic Turkish II (TUR 102), Pre-intermediate Turkish I (TUR 201), Advanced Readings in Turkish for Foreigners (TUR 403) are offered during each semester.
Exchange students are allowed to register for 18 credits maximum per semester. All exchange students are exempted from pre-requisites of each course. For additional academic information, visit this link. For course registration limitations for exchange students, visit this link.
Excursions
The International Relations Office organizes a buddy program to help all incoming students with all bureaucratic procedures. This means that local students will assist you with registration and residence permit procedures. Buddies volunteer for this and in many cases they have themselves been exchange students abroad. This program is designed a smooth transition in this new culture.
Housing
Exchange students at Sabanci stay in dorm rooms. Dorm rooms, which accommodate 2 students, are equipped with showers, closets, and personal telephones. Automatic washing machines, driers and irons are for free in the laundry rooms in the dorm buildings.
The advantage of living on campus is the ability to attend group-study sessions and take part in club activities without spending a lot of time commuting.

Students pursuing program participation accept financial responsibility. Purdue will take measures to mitigate financial risks, although will not be liable for loss. Students should carefully note what costs need to be paid to Purdue University or to a co-sponsor or agency, and what costs need to be paid at the overseas study location. This will vary by program.
