Overview
Students participating in this spring or fall 2025 program will receive a guaranteed flight voucher worth up to $1,500 from CIEE.
Known for its hospitality and the homely way it welcomes visitors, the western tip of Europe is the perfect place to launch your study abroad experience! If you are looking for a city full of authenticity where ancient history and old customs intermix with cultural entertainment and hi-tech innovation, Lisbon is the right place to go. While spending the semester immersed in Portuguese culture at CIEE Lisbon, you will learn from highly-esteemed professors while taking courses in English or Portuguese at CIEE Lisbon and CIEE’s partner schools: NOVA FCSH (NOVA School of Social Sciences-Universidade Nova de Lisboa), NOVA SBE (NOVA School of Business-Universidade Nova de Lisboa), and ISCTE-IUL (Instituto Superior de Ciências do Trabalho e de Empresas-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa). All courses are complemented with co-curricular activities and excursions organized by CIEE beyond the city to enhance classroom learning and provide intercultural understanding.

Eligibility
The program is open to Purdue students in good standing who have completed at least two semesters of university study by the start of the program. Successful candidates will demonstrate academic success, maturity, and a desire to experience another culture.

Excursions
Day trips to Évora, Sintra, and Setúbal are included as well as local cultural events and activities.
Housing
CIEE Lisbon offers diverse housing options to ensure students are comfortable in their home away from home. From homestays to residence halls, CIEE will try their best to meet accommodation preferences. Additionally, all housing options are located in neighborhoods with convenient access to public transportation, shops, cafés, and eateries.
Estimated Program Costs
Students pursuing program participation accept financial responsibility. Purdue will take measures to mitigate financial risks, although will not be liable for loss. Students should carefully note what costs need to be paid to Purdue University or to a co-sponsor or agency, and what costs need to be paid at the overseas study location. This will vary by program. Program fee includes: tuition, on-site orientation, advising support, and some activities and excursions.
Depending on housing selection, some meals may be included.
