Overview
INSA Lyon is located on the LyonTech-La Doua Campus, 15 minutes from the centre of Lyon. It is a smart, bustling and responsible campus with its halls of residence, canteens, classrooms and sports facilities. The LyonTech-La Doua campus has everything to make life easier. Beside their studies, students have the opportunity to discover many leisure activities as well as Lyon’s exceptional cultural heritage.
During this 4-week short program, students will learn about perspectives in Engineering and Innovation through innovative and interactive teaching. While planting the seeds of an innovative and sustainable engineering project, students will enjoy hands-on experiments and acquire valuable international experience for their professional futures. Students will get to know French culture and the beautiful city of Lyon, and learn some French.
Location: Lyon has a population of 400,000, but the surrounding suburbs raise the population to approximately 2 million people. It is located in the west of France, about 3 ½ hours north of the Mediterranean and 2 ½ hours south of Paris by train.

Eligibility
While courses at INSA Lyon are offered in English, applicants should have some knowledge of French. Applicants should be in good standing and have completed at least two semesters of university study by the start of the program. Successful candidates will demonstrate academic success, maturity, and a desire to experience another culture.

On this this 4-week summer program, students choose between the below academic tracks and also participate in a required French Language Track.
- Track 1: Connected Devices and Smart Devices
- Track 2: Management and Innovation in Europe

Excursions
The INSA Lyon Summer program offers various activities including a guided tour of Lyon, dinner in a French restaurant, two-day excursions, and a farewell evening. Students also have free weekends to explore/travel.
Housing
Students will reserve shared accommodations through the program.
Estimated Program Costs
Students pursuing program participation accept financial responsibility. Purdue will take measures to mitigate financial risks, although will not be liable for loss. Students should carefully note what costs need to be paid to Purdue University or to a co-sponsor or agency, and what costs need to be paid at the overseas study location. This will vary by program. The program fee cost includes: shared accommodation, breakfast, lunch and some dinners from Monday thru Friday, participation and transport for all leisure activities organized by INSA Lyon, and the return trip from the Lyon airport to campus.
